Banyana’s Safe Haven
Banyana’s Safe Haven was founded by Nancy Segale, with a clear vision given by God on the 11th of May 2016.
Our mission is centered around the restoration and healing of abused women and children, providing a safe and nurturing environment for those in need.
The name Banyana, derived from the Tswana language, refers to both women and children, reflecting our commitment to empower and uplift individuals affected by abuse. Through support, care, and love, we aim to restore hope and transform lives.

ABOUT
Nancy Segale
Founder & Director, Banyana’s Safe Haven NLP Life Coach | Speaker, Mentor & Trauma Support Advocate
- Nancy is a survivor of sexual abuse, a trail blazer, an inspirational speaker, and a passionate champion for emotional and spiritual wholeness. Having experienced the pain of trauma and the redemptive power of God’s love, she now shares her powerful testimony to bring light, hope, and restoration to others.
- Through her writing, mentorship, and ministry, she is creating safe spaces where wounded hearts can be restored, and silenced voices can rise again. Her story is not just one of survival, but of transformation — and she continues to walk faithfully in her purpose to help others find their own path from pain to healing through forgiveness.
- She is a devoted wife, mother to two amazing daughters, and a nurturing mentor and mother-figure to over 50 boys and girls whom she continues to guide and support.
- With 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, she courageously transitioned from the corporate world to fully embrace her divine calling — a path rooted in healing, restoration, and purpose. She holds a Programme in Basic Counselling and a certificate in “Orientation & Background to HIV/AIDS Care & Counselling,” both from UNISA.
- She is also a certified NLP Life Coach, using her training to walk compassionately alongside others on their journey to healing.
- She is the Founder and Director of Banyana’s Safe Haven, a non-profit organization launched in August 2024. The mission of the foundation is to restore the lives of sexually abused women and children so they can live full, abundant lives rooted in God’s love.
- She is currently running a Trauma Counselling & Support Services that are designed to provide a confidential, compassionate, and Christ-centered space where survivors—especially women and children—can begin their journey of healing

Long-term Objectives
Acquire an apartment complex to house abused women, children, and families in need of protection. The complex will include early learning programs, a school, and a church to foster a holistic sense of community and growth.
Why Me?
God is in it, and He directs my path
We rely on social connections for emotional support, including validation, emotional regulation, empathy, comfort, and a sense of belonging. Social integration fosters identity and inclusion, while isolation can diminish self esteem and lead to feelings of sadness, alienation, anxiety, or despair. “As a survivor myself, I have experienced this firsthand. Through God’s grace, I found complete healing—physically, emotionally, spiritually, and psychologically.
